Why, What Is a Bullet Journal?
So a couple of weeks ago, I popped a few photos onto my Instagram stories of my bullet journal. I started to noticed I got some questions off you guys asking what a bullet journal was. I popped a poll on my Instagram stories if you guys would like to see me do a blog post and majority of you said yes. So here it is.
First of all, what on earth is a bullet journal?
Everyone has heard of a journal before right? A journal can be many things, a finance journal, a happy journal or even a goals journal. Their normally separate journals where you can log things down on. They usually have everything already planned out for you in the journal.
A bullet journal: A bullet journal has the same concept of a normal journal however they have blank pages in them. The reason for that is, a bullet journal is basically a customisable journal and you can put whatever suits you in it. So you can create the bullet journal to suit you and your lifestyle. If this still doesn't make sense, I would highly recommend you go and check out Lily Pebbles Youtube channel. She done a whole video all about her bullet journal and she's the person who originally inspired me to do it. I also watched Hello October's video the other day I would highly recommend both of them. I'll make sure to link it below.
Originally I started a bullet journal last year and give it a good go. However I didn't really stick to it to be honest with you. I would do meal plans for the week, so I could organise my food shop and know what I needed. I would do some to do list here and there. To be honest I had all good intentions to carry on with it. However this year when I have restarted my bullet journal I have learnt from my mistakes.
My bullet journal is all based around my blogs and social media accounts. So this year when I decided to start again with my bullet journal I watched loads of Youtube videos on what people like to put in them, how they lay them out etc. I gathered a lot of idea's and decided to use some of them into my bullet journal. Again I would highly recommend you watch Lily Pebbles and Hello Octobers to see how they have done theirs also.
Why I would recommend you starting a bullet journal?
I literally use my bullet journal every day. I can customise it to how I want it. I use my bullet journal to organise my life, so I can quickly write something down if it pops into my head. For example a blog post idea or instagram post. I literally have everything I need in one journal. With my bullet journal like I say it's mainly for my blogs and social media. You can also use it for your personal life also, if you need to schedule an appointment or if you were to keep track of what you are eating. You can also set it to how many times you work out a week.
You don't have to do your bullet journal this way at all if you don't want to, I'm just going to walk you through mine and show you how I have done it. Firstly in my bullet journal I have doodled the month on two pages to set when I am planning for. Following that I have a January to do list. So it's all the things I would like to accomplish at the end of January. This way I can break this down during the month to make sure I can achieve this. I also have my blog post idea's for January, so if anything pops up I will write it down.
Half way through the month of January in my bullet journal I have done my 2018 goals, I kind of regret placing this there as it's half way through the month, kind of wish I put it at the beginning of my journal. Never mind I'm going to role with it.
So as this is also for my social media, I have a page for my January instagram ideas. As some of you may know I have a new instagram account purely for my blogs post etc. I try and upload three posts a day on my instagram. Most of the time I know what I am going to post however if something comes into my head for future I write it down. It's so handy to look back on to make sure I don't post something twice because I will be able to see what I've already posted. I also have a instagram tracker. So at the end of the day I'm tracking how many followers I end up with at the end of the day.
Rather than putting everyday in my journal and then putting my plans in for a certain day, I didn't want to do that as not everyday I always plan something. So the days where I have a full day to work on my blog or social media I would write a to do list.
I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post. I hope it all made sense. Also don't forget to check out +Lily Pebbles and also +HelloOctoberxo. I think their videos will really help you out, liked they helped me out when I first started mine.
I hope you all have an amazing week ahead.
xoxo
