I'm Back & Let's Catch Up

Hope you are all well. So it's official I am back, I have not blogged in over a month. It feels much longer than that. I am sorry for this also. I will be explaining why and whats been going on in little detail later on in the blog post. However right now it just feels great to be back behind my desk typing on my laptop again with my dog under my desk ripping my sock to pieces. haha!

This is going to be a chilled blog post, so make sure your in your comfy's and go grab yourself a cup of tea and lets begin.

Let's address the elephant in the room first and foremost and as to why I haven't been blogging for so long. On my latest blog post I posted The Importance Of Self Care. I guess for me life got way way ahead of me over the last month or so. I have been feeling very stressed and overwhelmed. With out going into to much detail I didn't realise life was ahead of me and I needed to take a step back.

So when I was stressing out a lot, in my previous experience with other people that I would give advice to I noticed I needed to help myself. I needed time to sort my self out and to take a step back. So I decided to stop blogging and take the pressure off me to blog every week as I work full time also. That seemed to of helped. I hope you all can understand as we all may have been in this situation once or twice now and then.

While I have been away I have been learning little ways that may help me throughout my day to day life. I have been reading a book called Don't Sweat The Small Stuff. It's a brilliant book which I think everyone should read. It's one of them reads where you think actually I do that or I need to do that when you didn't think you did. It is so true and honest and it helps in ways which you can control it and basically let the little things go. They have very small chapters so if you have a 10 minutes of your spare time you could sit and give it a little read and then come back to it later on. I love to read it before I go to bed. As it's the quiet part of the day everyone goes to sleep and it lets me think. I take more information from the book and it helps me unwind.

I'm a girl who loves lists and when I was super stressed I forgot to write them which made me feel overwhelmed. So when I knew I needed stuff to do I started writing lists again. It helped me to feel more organised and in control of my life a little. Plus their is something so satisfying ticking off your list once it's done. Don't you think?

I would also use breathing strategies. When I put the kettle on to make a cup of tea. I would wait for the kettle to boil I would stand in peace and quiet and just concentrate on my breathing for a minute or two. It sounds so silly but it's so important and it helps with concentration. It really makes a difference so I do this every day now for as many  times as I need too.

I'm not saying these little things can help everyone or anything like that however I am just mentioning these as this is whats helped me along the way. I am not going to rush back into things straight away with my blog. I will be taking my time and then gradually doing more and more as time goes on. I am not going to pressure my self and I am going to continue with these little things as much as I need them.

Things I have been up too while I have been away.

So if you seen my hair you would know it needed doing desperately so I decided to get it done. I have gone back to my original colour of my roots near enough and had it chopped a little shorter than it was. I absolutely love it, when I look back at my old hair it looked so poor and not looked after. Now it's perfect, with massive thanks to Ian my hairdresser.

It's also been my birthday this month yes I am Libra. I absolutely love having my birthday in October as it's Autumn and it's a beautiful time of the year. Now that we have a dog we love to go for long dog walks and crunch the Autumn leaves. I have been totally spoilt this birthday more than ever and I am so grateful for all the wonderful gifts I got. I am also thankful for spending the time with the people who are the closest to me.

I have been a few different places for my birthday this year. Me and my sister (my twin if you didn't know) sometimes struggle to see each other with us both working and life been a mad rush. So over the last couple of weeks we are starting to make a real effort to make time for each other as we are super close sisters. We decided to take my dog to Hardwick Park for a lovely dog walk however I was nearly in the pond. haha! It's a great place to visit in the north east Hardwick Hall is there also were you can go for afternoon tea.

We always plan on having a great adventure somewhere and going for the full day. Today was a day were we planned to do that however we ended up going to Barnard Castle which is in the North East. It's been a great day and lovely weather for it. There are some lovely walks around the castle that you can visit and their is also a river you can walk around too. We ended up have such a great giggle and a great day out, was a bit of a random day but a good one at least. If you guys would like to know more about these places and what you can do let me know.

Also for my birthday off my partner he booked us a pod away in the Lake District it's exactly what I needed. I didn't want to come home, I have loved it. So we ended up going to Castlerigg and stopped in a pod their. It's definitely a place with a view you can't go wrong if you are wanting something with scenery. We have both had quite the year and this place is exactly what we needed sometime to ourselves with the dog of course. We done some lovely walks, some we made up as we went however they were still 6 mile walks and we had a great laugh. My favourite was that we walk Latrigg it's another one we can tick off our list. It was a bit cold but I am pleased we done it. On an evening we would go to a place with a big roaring fire, warm up and to have some food. We both love this place so much it kind of feels like a second home to us. The Lake District has my heart, it's a place where I feel at peace and everything is so chilled and relaxed.

I have been totally honest in this blog post and been 100% truthful. I hope you understand as to why I was away so long. Let me know what you would like to see next, comment below.

Have a lovely week!
