The Importance Of Self Care
We all live a very busy life, whether you own a business, working full time or even a full time parent, life can be hard. We have all heard a little to often, I haven't got time for my self or I am too busy. I'll just do this and then If I have time I will. Most of you guys may be reading this and thinking yes I have heard this or it maybe you that says it. (I am not a doctor or anything professional, I am writing this from past experience and wanted to share with you guys how it helped me)
The reason why I am writing this blog post today is because life can get ahead of us and sometimes we are so wrapped up in the moment we never take care of ourselves. Whether that's mentally or physically. It's so important to take time to look after ourselves. If we don't we can make silly decisions or snap at people because your overworked and tired or you can even become poorly your self.
I know this as I have done it my self in the past and I have seen it so often happen to other people around me. Taking time out is great for your body, mind and soul. It's alright to be a little selfish sometimes and look after your self and once you are recharged you can be 100% on top form to look after others or make better positive decisions.
If your not sure how you can do this. Start to take half an hour out of your day to maybe journal, write down your thoughts and feelings. This can be great just to get things off your chest and get everything on paper. That half an hour could be enjoying a long soak in the bath or even reading your book. You could go for a walk everyday, exercise is great for getting a clear head space and recharging your thoughts and ideas. It's also great for your body. So all of this is reconnecting with your body, mind and soul.
So one night every week I set a time when I am going to have a pamper night and that time is going to be mine. That time is just for me and so I can look after my self and make my self feel good.
We can all contact people through our phones and the majority of people these days have a mobile phone. It's so easy to get sucked in by social media or texting or contacting people. If you are out for a coffee date with a friend turn your phone off for the whole time and let the people know you are out and will contact them later. It's great to have time away from your phone and actually have a conversation with someone face to face rather than a phone call.
I also try to plan time away from my phone as it's so easy to check your emails on your phone and then the next thing you know your replying to comments. I have some time were I switched my phone off and I do something else, most of the time I am spending time with my loved ones.
Create the time for yourself and start today. What are you going to do to look after your self?
