Spring Make Up/Office Tour
Before....
Before....
Since me and my boyfriend moved into our home I have always wanted a dressing table. Somewhere I can get ready on a morning, do my hair, make up and get dressed. I also needed a place to store my make up. So about a month after we moved in, it was my birthday. My Boyfriend asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I mentioned that I would like something for the house and then that's when I thought a dressing table. He let me pick out my own dressing table and I only wanted something small. He surely enough got me it and set it up bless him. It was so cute and it fitted into the spare room like the perfect pair of skinny jeans.
However as time went on I began to have a build up of make up. I was planning on getting some new draws to put down the sides so I would have more storage. That was going to be the plan. Although at this point I was considering blogging. I wasn't sure what to do so I held off the draws idea for a bit. I started to blog in January 2017 and I thought I would give it a go to see if it was for me. 6 Months later I am still doing it. Although in the last few weeks I have started to work on my blog loads to try and get it where I wanted it to be. It has been really fun to do and learn as I go. I have loved it more over the last few weeks.
Since I have been loving writing and getting really creative with blogger ideas. I wanted a space of my own. Somewhere that I can block out from the world maybe after a hard day at work or even a rainy afternoon. I knew I wanted that place I can go to and know I can be really organised and work really hard on my blog. Normally I would just blog any where in the house, sitting room, dining room or even bedroom. Which is great as you could sit in your comfy's and work any where but that's when I noticed I began to get distracted. I could sit in front of the TV and then get distracted. I would be working hard on my blog in my dinning room and the postman or a delivery would knock on the door as they knew I would be in and I would loose were I am on my blog. So having my own space when writing was the reason why I began to look for a desk and a chair etc.
After....
After looking for a while I came across a couple of desks and chairs that I really liked. I thought about getting the desk and chair and whether it was really worth it. I came to the conclusion that it was worth it. I replaced my dressing table area with my desk and chair. I found a desk that is from Ikea, it has two draws under the desk which I thought was perfect and they have it in white which was a bonus. The only thing I was worried about was the size of the draws. I also knew I wanted a light grey desk chair and I found my chair from Ikea which is brilliant as well. When these both got set up I was really happy with the way they look together as the colors matched up well.
Soon as these were put up I checked the draw sizes and they looked alright at a squeeze. I started organising my stuff straight away. I had an idea of keeping the tops of my desk very simple and clean. The draws however I planned on putting my make up in one and office accessories in the other.
What's on my desk....
On the top of my desk to the left I have my make up bag which is from Clarins. This has all of my current favorite pieces of make up in their that I am using on a daily basis. Next to that I have my brushes and the little pot I have my brushes in is from Ikea also. I'm pretty sure it was meant to be a little plant pot but I thought it would go really well. Next to that I have my Lipstick holder which is full of all my lipsticks. Well not all of them but most of them I have some in my draws as well which I will come onto later. I also have my Flowerbomb perfume in the middle as it looks really cute and its pink. I love that side of my desk as it's my make up side however it still looks very simple and clean. On the right hand side of my desk I just have a little candle which I thought just added a lovely touch to my desk. It's sweet pea and rose.
In my left draw I have filled this with my eye shadow palettes that are a little bit on the large side. I also have another filled up make up bag that is full of bobby pins. I have more lipsticks, hand creams, nail varnishes and foundation etc. When I filled this like I mentioned earlier I didn't think it would be that big and it's huge it great for storage. In my right draw I have got bullet journal, my note books, pens, sticky notes and a magazine.
If some of you are wondering I still need to sort out the wall in front of my desk yet. I'm not sure what I want to put on the wall yet. If you guys have any idea leave me a comment I would love to know.
