Moving Home: Tips And Tricks
So they all say there's nothing more stressful than moving home. Although it's coming up to two years since I moved out and got my own place with my boyfriend. What I recall it wasn't stressful but it was actually fun, exciting and we both just couldn't wait to move in. I remember that as been a really happy time in my life as it was such a big deal for us. However non of the less, I am going to be sharing with you guys my tips and tricks on how to ensure you guys have a fun and exciting move just like we did.
So whether it's buying or renting your place I have it covered. I am not expert but these are a few things I picked up along the way from my own personal experience.
Tip One
When you start to think about moving home and your looking for the perfect property, start to think about the things you will need. Have a look online and see if the items you need or just want for your home are on offer. I went to amazon and got a set of really good quality towels that were on offer so I just got them as I would't find that deal any where else. If you start to do this it will be a lot easier for when you move in and then your not forking out a lot of money straight away as you have gradually built it up.
Tip Two
If you do buy anything online and you receive them in the post with huge boxes keep them. As they come in really handy with moving as you may need a lot of them.
Tip Three
Once you have found that perfect home and you know your moving in date start to think about changing your address over. So this could be to change your address on your licence, bank, bills and insurance etc. If you were to do this before your move in date it will make things a lot easier for you. As once you have moved in you won't need to worry about these things as it will already be done and you can then concentrate on unpacking.
Tip Four
Packing time! When it came to actually pack my things I honestly didn't know where to start. I had a think about how I could make sure I was really organised. Instead of writing things on the boxes of what you have in them, all you need is sticky notes. The reason you need sticky notes is because for each room I had set a color for, so I would pack everything in the box for the sitting room and I would pop a yellow sticky note on the box. So all the boxes with a yellow sticky note was for the sitting room and therefore we would know where everything was. Honestly this really does work!
Tip Five
Once you are moved in and your unpacking everything one tip of advice I would give is just to take your time unpacking. Realistically you will be in the property a long time and unpacking doesn't just happen over night. Although it would be lovely if it did. I thought unpacking and putting things in it's place may take about a week, however that doesn't happen. Don't stress because you haven't unpacked all the bedding, or you haven't set up your dinning room table. These are all things that could wait a couple of weeks until you sort your priorities out first. Take your time, make your self a cup of tea and enjoy watching your home come together.
I wish you guys all the best and I hope you have a happy and healthy future in your new home if you guys do move. I also hope you found this helpful!
Please don't forget to leave a comment or subscribe I would really appreciate that!
Have a great weekend!
