Highlights In 2019!
Although I have had a rough year, when I look back I have had also so many amazing highlights this year that I would like to share.
I have taking time out to read some books and my two favourite books I have read this year was An Edited Life by Anna Newton. This book is perfect for this time of year. The time in-between Christmas and New year and you have absolute no idea what you're doing, who you are or what day it is. Haha. This book is basically how to sort all your adult shit out. How to get your life in order great for new year. This book has taught me so much and I feel like a responsible adult when I follow things from this book. Like organising my clothes, sorting out my finances, there's literally all sorts. It's a great book, if you haven't read it I highly recommend you do.
This other book I have read has literally changed my life and my out look on life. I can't recommend this book enough. It's just simply amazing, it's The Fear Bubble by Ant Middleton. The books is based on his time climbing Mount Everest the highest mountain in the world and the deadliest mountain. He explains why he wants climb Everest and his challenges that faces his way when climbing it. He talks about the fear bubble so when you are scared or worried about something and how you can use it to your advantage. Honestly just do one thing today go on amazon and buy it.
We have also decorated little places in our home. First we have decorated the hall way. Everywhere in our house the walls were white and it was time for a bit of colour. So we changed the hall way colour to pebble grey and we also changed the carpet to hard flooring the colour of the flooring is a light grey and I absolutely love it. It's so much more practical with having a dog as well just means it super easy to clean the floor if it gets dirty. We also painted one main wall in the sitting room to a very very light pink/neutral colour. It's gorgeous, I think it's very fresh during the day when the light bounces off it however very cosy on an evening. The only thing we still need to change is the cushions and then the sitting room will be completed. I have also decorated the room I am currently sitting in when writing this blog post which is the spare room, this room I have my desk in and I also get ready in this room. So I decided I wanted a main wall and I took down the old canvas we had on the wall. So painted the wall a pink which if I find the name of the colour I will link it. I have also put shelves up on the other side of the room and it goes so well. The last few bits and bobs I would love to finish off the room is some prints for above the bed. A full length mirror and a knitted grey throw to go over the bed. Then it would be perfect.
My sister moved house this year so I helped her move her stuff, she didn't move to far away from her old house thankfully however there was a lot of stuff she collected. There was a lot of laughs when helping her move and a few tears. Here are a few photos we took when she was moving.
Me and my boyfriend took a lot of little trips this year which I didn't realise until looking back at photos of this year when I was about to write this blog post. We had a day at the Lake District and we usually do really long walks when we go however on this occasion we had a very chilled day as it was boiling hot.
In May we went to the lakes and walked Skiddaw. We took the root were you walk up Ullock Pike, Long Side, Carl Side, Skiddaw and Bakestall. This was the highest I have walked so far however the walk was so rewarding. The views were incredible, the higher and higher you got they were getting better and the view was changing so much. It was surreal when having our lunch half way up a mountain. This is exactly what I had needed something I could push my body and mind through as I was determined to get to the top. We smashed it and it was such a great day that I would never forget as the buzz I got from achieving this was something else. Can't wait for our next adventure climbing our next mountain.
As we absolutely love The Lake District if you can't tell already we went back again for a night in July. It was our annual stay we always stay in the lakes at some point of the year and we always stay in a camping pod which people call it glamping. The first day we got there a little later and we decided to set up the pod and then go for a walk around Keswick and around the lake as it was such a hot day. Our dog absolutely loved the water and was swimming for ages. We got back and freshened up and went for something to eat at the pub. There's loads and loads of places in the Lake District which are dog friendly so our dog came along with us. We had some lovely food and meet some locals which where lovely. When we got back as it was still so warm and the hight of summer it was really light outside we decided to have a few drinks and sit outside. There was so many rabbits dotted about it was super cute. Rather than count the sheep which you can do in the lakes as there's that many it was more like count the rabbits. The next day we got up early and it was hot it was 24c which isn't like the UK. We knew we had to be near water for our dog to jump into as it was so warm so went walked down to the lake and decided to have a little walk up to ashness bridge. I say a little walk when it was read hot it was all up bank. We have such a good little break in the summer I really enjoyed it.
I also decided this year I wanted to try something new but I didn't know what and then I seen a discount on groupon and I hummed and harrred for a while before I decided just to do it. I had nothing to loose. I decided to buy a course to become a nail tech and I completed it which means I was qualified. I then decided to get the lamp and everything you need with it and I absolutely love doing nails its so much fun.
Everything I have done this year I am grateful for however in all honestly I can't wait to see the back of 2019. Turn over the page and start a new chapter for a new decade of my life.
I hope you all have had an amazing year with some incredible moments that you will cherish forever. If you think you haven't had the best of years sit down and really think about the moments that made you smile or made you feel good they are your highlights. They are the moments that made you feel great.
I will be back writing again, can't wait to do this again.
I wish you all the very happiest of new year's.
Speak to you all in 2020!
